DETAILED COURSE DESCRIPTION
The objectives of the course are: (1) to really learn the use of your digital SLRs – show where and how to purchase used alternatives – the use of iPhones for digital photography for excellent intral-oral dental images and simple high quality portraits. (PROFESSIONAL MODEL SUPPLIED FOR THIS SEGMENT). Also, you will learn photography for shade communication. Light fundamentals, which are key to any kind of photography, will be covered in detail and some simple and some inexpensive continuous and on-camera lighting will be demonstrated and participants will be able to use their images. Secondly, how to take simple but calibrated images for digital smile design. The course will demonstrate and there will be hands-on opportunity to use Photoshop to do a simple digital smile design, using easily learnable techniques.
All of the above topics will be covered in a lecture and demonstration format. The participants will then divide up into teams and take the demonstrated dental images on each other and portraits with a professional model.
If you have a DSLR (with flash) and iPhone, bring them and iPhone (we will have a couple, there for use). The participants will need to bring a laptop computer configured with Camera Raw, Photoshop, and Capture One (you can download a 30-day free trial, before course). IF YOU DON’T HAVE A CAMERA, DO NOT BUY ONE, ONE WILL BE PROVIDED FOR YOU. A LARGE PART OF THE COURSE WILL BE TEACHING HOW TO SEARCH OUT EQUIPMENT.
